Prairie Rose Candle Company was founded in 2021 with a simple mission: to create beautiful candles that awaken the senses and cleanse the soul. From the minimalist packaging, to the delicious aromas that fill a room, our candles are a full-sensory experience.
All our candles and wax melts are hand-poured in our studio using a beautiful soy-palm wax. Our candles use high quality cotton or ethically sourced wood wicks along with fragrances that are phthalate and paraben free.
About Our Founder:
Melanie has loved candles as long she can recall. It wasn't until noticing that her favourite candle brands were causing headaches and issues with her asthma that she decided to do some research into what exactly goes into candles. This research showed that many candles are made with paraffin wax, which is a by-product of petroleum, and many of the fragrances used contain both phthalate and paraben, all of which are harmful when inhaled.
With that in mind, she went about starting her own candle line using the finest of ingredients, insuring a top-quality product that is safe for all members of the family.
What began on a kitchen counter has slowly grown to a small home studio space, and products in several small retailers across Alberta. As the client base continues to grow, Melanie is committed to ensuring that each and every Prairie Rose Candle is made with the same care and quality that clients have come to love.
